The Appalachian at Mountain Creek

Vernon, New Jersey

The Appalachian is a luxury resort located in Vernon, NJ. Birdsall Services Group (BSG) was contracted by the Interwest Corporation to design the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems for a 234,000 square foot, 5-story building with a parking structure below. The building contains 172 units on four floors with two restaurants, one cafe and five retail spaces on the first floor.

Our services included the design of power distribution, emergency generator, lighting, fire alarm, telephone, security, intercom, HVAC (water source heat pumps), domestic water system including central hot water, sanitary, fire sprinkler and natural gas distribution systems. This building is the first of a proposed ten-building site to be completed by 2010.

BSG was also retained to provide structural design services for the complex. The upper portion of the facility comprises four stories of timber and steel frame construction to house the apartment units, and features steep pitched sloping roofs. The lower level is a one-story concrete and steel framed parking garage.
