Montclair University

Montclair, New Jersey

Alexander Kasser Theater: This project involved the design of a state-of-the-art performing arts center at Montclair State University. The 500-seat, steel framed theater features a main stage, two side stages, gallery space, loading docks and a large special events lobby space. The two-story 53,000 square foot Center design includes a balcony, curved loggia, flying sets and an orchestra pit. The university has a strong emphasis on the liberal arts and sciences and chose an experienced theatre design team to develop its world-class facility.

Academic Building: DVB also performed a peer review of the design for a 7-story building encompassing 270,000 square feet. A detailed analysis and report on building code interpretation, computer design models, calculations, specifications and drawings showing all discrepancies were submitted to the Engineer of Record for his use in correcting the construction documents.

Richardson Hall, Bohn Hall and Panzer Gymnasium: From the late 1960s to the mid-1970s, DVB designed these dormitories and gymnasium facility for the University in response to signficant growth in student enrollment.
