One of the most devastating natural occurrences for a community to endure is flooding. And the best way to avoid such tragedy is to plan ahead. Our professionals have been managing stormwater runoff for more than 85 years, and have designed systems ranging from surface flows to large culverts. We have designed pump systems, recharge systems, stream widening systems, and gauged release systems, each designed to meet the specific needs of our municipal clients.
Regulations imposed by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), local ordinances, and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) Clean Water Act influence stormwater management. At BEI, our engineers participate in public hearings, serve on commissions, and continually research new laws and regulations to assure that our stormwater management designs are current and effective. BEI's stormwater designers work closely with our environmental specialists to design stormwater facilities that meet and exceed water quality discharge requirements, protecting our environment in the process.
