Princeton University Medical Center

BSG designed the HVAC, electric, plumbing and fire protection systems for a new five-story, 150,000 sf Medical Office Building adjacent to the new University Medical Center at Princeton (UMCP) replacement facility under construction. The first two floors of the building will be utilized by UMCP with direct communicating access to the medical center located on the second floor.

This on-site comprehensive outpatient service facility will house ambulatory surgery, radiology, endoscopy, occupational medicine, maternal fetal medicine, a sleep lab, UMCP’s Department of Medicine offices, Department of Surgery offices, a wound care center and Princeton Health Services offices over 90,000 sf on the first two floors.  The three upper floors will be built in anticipation of housing medical offices for affiliated physician practices.  BSG has also developed infra-structure for this additional 60,000 sf to support these future planned occupants.

The building design utilizes Building Information Modeling (BIM) software.  BSG provided all of the major MEP components in the model utilizing Revit MEP.  The building design and construction team will leverage BIM to optimize the building design to minimize both the construction cost and schedule.   In addition, sustainable design elements will be incorporated throughout the infrastructure systems to reflect University Medical Center at Princeton’s ongoing commitment to energy and environmental conservation.
